How Motes work
Earn. Spend. Rise through the Hollow.
Motes are loyalty wisps that gather around every way you take part in Everlore Hollow. They have no routine expiration, so your balance can wait for the Apothecary find you want.

Earn
Collect 10 Motes per $1 on eligible card-paid purchases, then earn more through the quests, reviews, milestones, and referrals shown in Archives.

Spend
Use your balance on anything currently sold in the Apothecary. A card can cover the rest.

Rise
Reach Dweller for a 250-Mote gift and Warden for an additional 750. Spending never lowers your progress.
Inside the Apothecary
Turn your balance into anything in the Apothecary.
Browse and add items just as you normally would. At checkout, choose Motes + card and review both amounts before payment. Apothecary prices convert at 200 Motes per $1.

Every item currently offered for sale can be purchased with Motes. Today that means candles and tea, with more wares coming soon.

Choose your Motes payment
Use Motes when your balance covers the order, or choose Motes + card and review both amounts.
Step 3
Pay any remainder by card
If Motes do not cover the whole order, the remaining amount is charged to your card after you confirm the split.
Refer a friend
The Hollow rewards both of you.
Send your personal invitation. Your friend starts with extra Motes, and your reward arrives once their second successful subscription payment is complete.

Every eligible $1 paid by card earns 10 Motes. For example, a $50 eligible subtotal earns 500 Motes; tax, shipping, discounts, and any Motes-funded portion do not earn.

Tiers of the Hollow
Wanderer

Dweller

4× WardenA permanent honor after four Warden years that never resets.
Good to know: Motes have no routine expiration. Spending them does not lower your tier progress. Tier gifts are spendable and count toward the next tier. Tiers reset on your Archives anniversary, but Warden years carry forward and Hollow Saint is permanent.

Do Motes expire?
No. Your available Motes remain in your balance while the program is active. If the program ever closes, you will have at least 180 days to use them under the Program Rules.
What can I buy with Motes?
Anything currently offered for sale in the Apothecary. That includes every candle and tea available today, and new Apothecary wares will be included as they arrive.
How are Apothecary Mote prices calculated?
Every $1 of an Apothecary price costs 200 Motes. For example, a $13.95 tea costs 2,790 Motes and a $21.95 candle costs 4,390 Motes. The exact Mote total appears before you confirm checkout.
Can I split an Apothecary order between Motes and a card?
Yes. Choose Motes + card at checkout. We show the Motes applied and the remaining card charge before you confirm.
What happens if I return a mixed-payment order?
After an approved return, the Motes actually used are restored to your Motes balance and the card-paid portion is returned to the original card. Shipping refunds follow the Everlore Hollow Refund Policy.
Does spending Motes lower my tier?
No. Tiers use qualifying Motes earned during your Archives year, so using Motes in the Apothecary does not move that progress backward.
What do Dweller and Warden unlock?
Reach Dweller at 1,500 qualifying Motes to receive a 250-Mote gift once that Archives year. Reach Warden at 4,500 to receive an additional 750-Mote gift. Tier gifts are spendable and add to tier progress.
Do I have to subscribe to earn Motes?
No. Eligible one-time orders and listed activities can earn Motes without an active box subscription. The offer shown at purchase or in Archives controls eligibility and the award amount.
Does a prepaid Full Journey earn Motes?
Yes. A paid Full Journey earns 10 Motes per eligible $1 after discounts, excluding tax. A first-time customer also receives the standard welcome award or the applicable referral welcome award, but not both.
