Motes Program Rules
Clear terms for earning, spending, and sharing the Hollow.
Effective July 22, 2026
The plain-language rules of the Hollow
These rules explain who can participate, how Motes and referrals qualify, what happens after a return, and how we handle changes fairly. By earning or using Motes on or after the effective date, you agree to them.
Eligibility and accounts
Motes are free to join and belong to one person and one account.
- You need an Everlore Hollow or Hidden Archives account and must be able to enter a binding agreement. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must participate for you.
- Each person may use one Motes account. We may merge duplicate accounts after verifying ownership, but balances, tiers, referral progress, and program benefits cannot be sold, traded, gifted, or transferred to another person.
- Motes are promotional loyalty points. They are not cash, stored value, property, or a gift card, and they have no cash value outside the program.
- Physical Apothecary orders currently ship only to eligible United States destinations, including PO boxes and APO/FPO addresses when the carrier and item allow it.
Earning Motes and tiers
Eligible card-paid purchases earn 10 Motes per $1, rounded to the nearest whole Mote.
- Purchase Motes are calculated from the eligible purchase amount paid by card after discounts, excluding tax, shipping, and any portion paid with Motes. For example, a $50 eligible subtotal earns 500 Motes. Unpaid, canceled, fraudulent, test, or fully refunded transactions do not qualify.
- Reviews, social shares, quests, polls, preferences, birthdays, anniversaries, journey completions, and other activities earn the amount and frequency shown when the activity is offered. Verification may be required; duplicate, false, removed, or otherwise ineligible submissions do not earn Motes.
- Automatic purchase and referral awards normally post after the qualifying payment is processed. Activities that need review may take up to seven business days. Report a missing award within 30 days of when it should have posted.
- Qualifying Motes earned during your Archives year count toward tier progress. At 1,500 qualifying Motes, Dweller receives a one-time 250-Mote tier gift for that Archives year. At 4,500, Warden receives an additional one-time 750-Mote tier gift. Tier gifts are spendable and count toward tier progress.
- Spending does not reduce tier progress. Tier progress resets on your Archives signup anniversary; Warden years carry forward, and Hollow Saint becomes permanent after four Warden years.
Using Motes
Use Motes at 200 Motes per $1 on anything currently sold in the Apothecary, with a card covering any remainder.
- Every active item currently offered for sale in the Apothecary may be purchased with Motes. This includes candles and tea today and applies to future Apothecary merchandise as it becomes available.
- Apothecary Mote prices use a redemption rate of 200 Motes per $1 of item price and eligible separate shipping, rounded to the nearest five Motes. For example, a $13.95 tea costs 2,790 Motes and a $21.95 candle costs 4,390 Motes.
- At checkout, you may choose a full-Motes payment when your balance covers the order or Motes + card when it does not. The Motes applied and remaining card amount are shown before you confirm.
- Eligible subscribers may hold an order for their next qualifying box without a separate shipping charge. Otherwise, the separate-shipping amount shown at checkout is included in the Motes-and-card split.
- Apothecary prices and availability can change before checkout. A confirmed order uses the price and terms shown at confirmation and remains subject to inventory and shipping restrictions.
- Motes do not expire while the program remains active. If the program ends, the closing rules below provide a final redemption period.
Referral rewards
Your friend receives 500 Motes after the first successful subscription payment; you receive 4,000 after the second.
- Your friend must open your unique link and begin the subscription within 30 days on the same browser or device. One friend can have only one referral attribution, and the first valid link recorded by our system receives credit.
- The friend receives 500 welcome Motes after the first successful subscription payment. The referrer receives 4,000 Motes after the second. Canceled, refunded, reversed, disputed, complimentary, or fraudulent payments may be disqualified and related rewards reversed after review.
- There is no referral cap for genuine qualified referrals. Milestones are based on qualified referrals: 3 earns a referral pin, 5 adds 1,000 Motes, 10 adds 5,000 Motes, and 25 earns a collector set plus a Threadweaver nomination. Physical rewards require address confirmation. If one becomes unavailable, we will offer a comparable reward or Motes alternative; a nomination does not guarantee selection.
- Self-referrals and accounts you create or control for referral credit are prohibited. Do not use bought lists, bulk or automated messages, paid search ads, coupon sites, fake accounts, impersonation, or misleading claims to promote a referral link.
- Share only with people you know or who have agreed to hear from you, and follow applicable messaging and advertising laws. If you post publicly, clearly disclose the incentive near the link—for example: ‘I may earn Motes if you subscribe through my link.’
Privacy and referral data
We use the information needed to attribute referrals, keep the ledger accurate, and prevent abuse.
- We may collect and use account identifiers, referral codes and links, referral attribution, qualifying-purchase status, Motes balances, tier progress, transaction history, and redemption history to operate and support the program.
- Opening a referral link stores a referral identifier for up to 30 days so an eligible subscription can be attributed. Checkout and account information is handled under the Everlore Hollow Privacy Policy.
- Do not submit or share another person’s private information through the program without their permission. The built-in sharing tool gives you a link; it does not upload your contacts to Everlore Hollow.
- We may retain program records as described in the Privacy Policy and as reasonably needed for accounting, fraud prevention, support, and legal obligations.
Returns, refunds, and reversals
A reversed purchase may also reverse the Motes and referral progress it created.
- If a purchase is canceled, refunded, charged back, disputed, or otherwise reversed, we may review and remove related Motes still available in the balance and reverse any unfulfilled referral or milestone reward that depended on it.
- If related Motes have already been spent, we may contact you before making a reasonable account correction. We will not charge cash solely to replace a Motes shortfall.
- When an approved return includes an item bought wholly or partly with Motes, we restore the Motes actually spent to the member’s Motes balance and return the card-paid portion to the original card after the return is received and approved.
- Shipping paid with Motes or card is restored only for a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, or when required by law.
- Product returns still follow the Everlore Hollow Refund Policy. A partial refund may result in a proportional Motes adjustment.
Fair use and account corrections
The program is for genuine purchases, participation, and word-of-mouth referrals.
- We may correct duplicate awards, technical errors, or balances created by activity that did not meet these rules. The Motes ledger is controlling unless it contains a clear error.
- We may withhold or reverse a program benefit, disqualify a referral, or suspend program access after a reasonable review of suspected fraud, abuse, account manipulation, or violation of these rules.
- We will make a reasonable effort to explain a material correction or suspension using the contact information on the account. You may appeal by contacting support within 30 days of the notice.
- Closing an account forfeits unused Motes and unfulfilled promotional rewards after any legally required period. Orders already confirmed remain governed by the applicable purchase and refund policies.
Program changes or closure
Material adverse changes receive notice, and posted Motes keep their value under the rules in effect.
- We may change earning opportunities, Apothecary Mote prices, tier gifts, tiers, or these rules prospectively. We aim to provide at least 30 days’ notice before a material adverse change; legal, security, fraud-prevention, or technical changes may take effect sooner with notice as soon as practical.
- A new earn rate, Mote price, or tier rule will not retroactively reduce a Mote balance already posted or alter an order already confirmed.
- If Everlore Hollow closes the Motes program, members will receive at least 180 days from the announced closing date to use an available balance, unless law, fraud, or circumstances outside our reasonable control require a shorter period.
- The Everlore Hollow Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply. If they conflict with these rules on a loyalty-specific issue, these Program Rules control that issue; the general Terms control everything else.
